It took Charles Bell, a British representative to convince the 13th Dalai Lama to   allow this group to go and search out the peak which had previously been known   as "Peak XV". Leaving from Sikkim and travelling north and west into the peaks,   this is the first survey that now is all too often overlooked, though the first to   meticulously photograph and map the peak and the region.
