(Soviet Union - Anti-communist) Red Empire, Crusade For Truth, Inc., c. 1951
An anti-communist leaflet with a map of the "Red Empire" and all its "slave labor camps", and on the verso a tract on "The Death Factories of World Communism". While the Stalin era of show trials, executions and labor camps had been known, and their beginnings had been documented in books like Fitzroy Maclean's book "Eastern Approaches", the full dynamics of what happened, and the scope of the horror may never be fully known. Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn book on the "Gulag Archipelago" discussed the terror of the purges and the Gulag system that used dissedents and accidental victims as forced labor in a system that spanned much of the empire. This publication was produced by a U.S. based group of emigrees that sought to shed light on the situation. Uncommon.
