(Africa) A New Map of Africa from the best Authorities, Brookes, c. 1795
A crisp engraving of the vast continent still primitively understood even centuries on. While the coastal outline is dependable if a bit distorted, it includes major islands, rivers, towns and placenames. The interiors of the continent are a mix of national borders, people groups and sporadic cities or lakes. Condition is very good with some light off setting and discoloration of the paper. Margins are very close. Image size is approximately 9.25 x 7.75 (inches)
