He was one of the first archaeologists to utilize aircraft to survey areas, and was the first to find gold mines in the Transvaal. Here, his early map that compiles his and many other explorers routes to solidify an understanding of south east Africa. Notes peoples, towns, general terrain as well as roads and drainages.
