Africa (Southern Sheet.)

c.1857

  • - Africa
  • Africa.

Early, primitive and interesting. While in central Africa it simply states "UNEXPLORED REGION" and treats the area honestly, with little speculation, the far southern tip of the continent is address reasonably well. The tip is labelled as "Cape Colony" and is neighbored by "British Kafraria" and the "Traswaal Republic". Generally handles the Zanzibar and Congo coasts, noting many placenames. Solidly depicts the large island of Madagascar as well as its neighboring islands of the Seychelles and Mauritius and Bourbon.

Condition is very good with bold original hand color. Image size is 13 X 15.75(inches).
