(AK. - Denali) Denali, Berann, 1995 If we could pick a definitive view of Mt McKinley (Denali) and the region, we might first defer to Bradford Washburn and his foundational creation of his color shaded relief map for the peak and its vicinity. But immediately after mentioning Washburn, we would turn to this image by Heinrich Berann. Berann has more and more been recognized as a seminal influence on all of the mountain slope cartographers (Bill Brown, Hal Shelton, James Niehues, etc.) as he was able to take his refined approach to complex terrain and render an elegant but intuitive view of a region. Here Berann turns his eye toward the Denali area from Mt Foraker and Peter Hills out to Wonder Lake in the distance. Well documents the situation of the many Glaciers of the time, as well as the character of the peaks. Condition is very good, bordering on excellent, but with some bumps to the edges. Rare. Overall image size is approximately 29 x 39 (inches)
