"American Atlas"
A classic illustration that was a frontispiece for Colton's mid-19th century atlas, which condensed the "American" story into a single image. Here natives stand on a cliff overlooking a homesteaders cabin in a recently cleared grove of trees. This cabin is near a river with a steamboat which is heading past a railroad bridge onto the growing town in the near background. It's a clear story told, as the native warrior gestures to his chief, as if the problem of settlers was self evident.
Condition is good with thorough foxing. Image size is approximately 14 x 11.5 (inches).
