Perhaps the most decorative map of the continent for the period, showing from Central America to the Polar Circle, and everything in between. The map is hand colored to distinguish the national borders, and catches some interesting anomalies such as the US stretching well into the Pacific Northwest and British Columbia, and Mexico at its fullest expanse reaching well into the Southwest of the US. This map also shows the Republic of Texas when it was indeed, its own nation. The surrounding vignettes touch on the flora and fauna of the areas as well as some of the indigenous cultures (shows an Aztec pyramid). Full of drama and very decorative.

Condition is very good with some marginal staining . Image size with text 12.25 x 17.5 (inches)
