(Architecture) The Santa Sophia, Bingham - Walter, 1971
With emperor Justinian watching the progress of workers as they scale the scaffolding toward the ceiling, this is the largest church in the world for almost a millennium, and is still the fourth largest dome today. Completed in 537 A.D. as a church, it would spend its life as a mosque and later in 1935, a museum. Condition is very good. Image size is approximately 13 x 17.25 (inches)
