It's a time of growing momentum for the air age and all of a sudden far flung lands that you had read about could be places that you could visit within a reasonable amount of travel time. This map was meant to advertise and promote that potential, specifically travel to Central and South America. Notes the specific services of "American Republics Lines", "Grace Line", "Pan American Airways System", "Pan American-Grace Airways",as well as the "United Fruit Company".
