This MAP Presents A BOSTONIAN'S IDEA of the United States of America
It's one of the first maps to offer the comical "view as seen by" approach to maps, and this offers the Bostonian's view of the nation. Full of bias and distortion, it's a perspective weighted to the Boston area, and with little mercy shown to the rest of the country. This is the foundational concept that people like Saul Steinberg would develop in his covers for the New Yorker magazine decades later.
