While it shows the great expanse of the British Empire, it also includes steamer routes, railways and even caravan routes. But most interesting about this are the small insets that show comparative European influence. On the lower left is a map showing the Russian Possessions and the Dutch Possessions. While an inset on the lower right shows the German and French Possessions.
