  • Tallis produced some to the most decorative maps issued in the 19th century. All have baroque vignettes and unique ornate borders. The map of British Guayana is surrounded by five small vignettes relating to native life of the region including scenes from Georgetown, New Amsterdam, Christmas Cataract, Rive Berbice and Ataraipu (or Devil's Rock).

    Condition is very good with a close bottom margin. Image size is 14.25 inches x 9.5 inches with some outline color.
