(CA. - U.S. Counterculture) "Transcript Of Assault Plan", The Black Panter, 1970 Sourced from the newspaper, "The Berkeley Tribe", this map and key describe a potential action against the Black Panther Headquarters on Shattuck St in Oakland, California. The map identifies where police cars would be situated, where patrol men would be located and what weapons they would have on hand. Was this indeed a planned attack, or was it subterfuge to instill fear? In the last few years, it has been found that the Black Panthers had been infiltrated by government operatives, and even the guns that were owned by the Black Panthers (yes, even those they were famously photographed with), were supplied by Richard Aoki, an FBI informant. Whether a real intervention discovered before the police made advances, or purely psy-ops, it points to the perceptions of the time and the positions of the groups involved. Condition is very good. Single page in complete issue. Paper is typically lightly age-toned, overall very good. Image size is approximately 16 x 10.5 (inches)
