This set of maps by Nirenstein took a serious and detailed look at the cores of major towns across the continent, and captured an interesting glimpse of pre-depression cities. Showing block by block the building footprints, as well as the business or entities present gives a fascinating historical view.

    Here, Long Beach, Cal, covering a portion from Elm Avenue to Ocean Blvd., and 6th St. to Pacific Ave.
