A beautiful decorative map of mid 19th century Canada, by one of most notable of 19th century mapmakers, the Tallis Company. The map is a solid reference for the time with the provincial boundaries hand colored to distinguish each, and notes the major rivers and placenames, and includes dots to "indicate the Forts and principal Stations of the Hudson Bay Company". Surrounded with vignettes for whale fishing, a seal, polar bears, the town of Montreal, esquimeauxs, and the ships the Fury and Hecla.

Condition is very good. Image size, with surrounding text is approximately 10.25 x 13 (inches)
