(Caribbean) A New Map of the West India Isles...,
A dense and strong engraving for the Caribbean spanning a large distance, including the souther US in a territorial configuration with Georgia and Florida reaching to the Mississippi River. While addressing the towns, islands, hydrography and even general terrain, it still has a nice primitive appeal. The hand color throughout is coded to associate European colonial possession, red is British, yellow is Spanish, etc.
