A nice map of the heart of the city as it was at the end of the 19th century. Based on the earlier cartographic publishing of firms like Mitchell, this map includes new additions of streets, rail lines and even parks. Here a post-fire configuration shows a long green swathe on the lake front title "Lake Park", in the place of present day Grant Park, and to the north a familiar "Lincoln Park" is taking shape.
Condition is very good original hand color. Image size is 13.75 x 11 (inches).
