(CO.-Aspen) Aspen And Vicinity, Colo., U.S.G.S., (1894) 1939
An interesting iteration of the evolving town, compared with Spurr's work of the area from 1898. Here we see the town, its grid and roads, but also all of the historic mining operations nearby. Shows the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad, and the Colorado Midland as they come into town. Notes several Ranches beyond the Roaring Fork and Hunter Creek ("Fillmore Ranch", "Connaughton Ranch", "Koch Ranch"). An interesting glimpse for early 20th century Aspen. Condition is very good.
