(CO.) Colorado, The Century Co., 1897 While the image is dense with terrain, drainages and rail lines, it is really pretty exceptional for showing even the smallest towns of the time. Whether in the high plains, or deep within the central Rockies, there is a wealth of notations for settlements, many of which are ghost towns now. Interestingly, this is one of the few maps that notes the terrible Indian massacres that occurred in the eastern plains, and shows "Sand Creek Massacre" in the south and "Indian Fights" (Beecher Island) in the north. Condition is very good. Image size is approximately 10.75 x 15 (inches)
