(CO. - Denver) Denver A View Of The World, Harvey Hutter, 1986
An original puzzle still sealed in its original box. And while many discredit Hutter's souvenir maps and views as cheap and done without much thought, this actually captures a moment in Denver. Done as a Steinberg projection that centers on the overly dramatized buildings of downtown Denver, it also shows the Stock Show grounds, Mile High Stadium, and the Capital. The background of mountains are littered with skiers, and a few towns like Aspen, Vail and Winter Park. Notably, an oil well is shown near City Park as "Marvin Davis' Well", and in the distance, on the horizon near Disneyland we see "Marvin Davis' Hollywood". This was the time when Davis, the oil man, had planted his headquarters in Denver, but also owned 20th century fox, as well as the Aspen Skiing Co. He was a force and presence in the town at the time. Condition is pristine as it is unopened. Box size is 12 x 9.25 x 1.5 (inches).
