It's a time of considered change for this part of Denver, the just recently deemed "Lower Downtown" (LoDo). Historically, this was indeed the area where Gen. William Larmier built his cabin in 1858, and from where settlement began to spring up. By the 1860's and 70's it was a place of bars, cheap accomodations and the railroad station. In this promotional work by the "Lower Downtown District", we begin to see the evaluating and planning that sought to build a place to both live and a place of culture. This architectural birdseye of the area includes many things now long gone, such as the immense Eisenhower Post Office that was at 16th and Wynkoop, as well as a much more functional and sprawling Union Station that focused on shipping. Condition is very good. Overall size is approximately 11 x 25.5 (inches)
