  • Map Of The City Of Denver... To Accompany the Annual Report of the City Engineer Of Denver, Colo.

A rare map for the city showing the latest additions and developments. Includes detail for "River Front Park" along the Platte that would be wiped out in a flood. Still shows Lake Archer further upstream, with an island in it(?). Shows Cherry Creek as still mostly subterranean. Spans from Smith Lake near present day Washington Park, and reaches up to "North Highlands" and "Swansea"

While we didn't recognize the overall structure of the map as being from one of the local publishers of the time, the publication information in the lower left attributes it to W.B. Gray from 1887, which we assume to be one of the many east coast mapmakers of the late 19th century.

Condition is good, has been professionally restored and backed with minimal loss. The original hand color is mostly faded and lost. Image size is approximately 29.5 x 23 (inches)
