These are the type of momentary glimpses of an area, from a local artist or mapmaker, that distills a wealth about how the region was experienced. Showing the roads and major terrain is interesting, but also noting all the shops, businesses and churches add a totally different level of insight. This large sketch birds eye by an Aspen based illustrator is our first experience with this beautiful image when the town felt much more like a town, and less like an overwhelmed attraction.
