A pictorial advertising map for the town that was once the territorial capitol, and is ever renown as the home of a specific beer producer. Here we see a significant portion of the businesses that served the little town of Golden as it was in the late 1980's. But what is stunning is how little has survived. Not just legacy businesses like Foss Drug store that had been around for almost a century, or family businesses like Plummer's Jewelry, but Pizza Hut, Baskin Robbins, the hardware store, the printers, all gone. Matter of fact, aside from a certain beer maker and the Colorado School of Mines, we only see two surviving businesses, or fixtures; the Safeway and Golden Liquors. While growth for the town has certainly pressed southward, and many new businesses have opened, it is interesting to see the shift and decline of local and independently owned companies.
Condition is very good, strong color on thick stock. Overall size is approximately 18 x 24 (inches).
