Drainage Basin Rio Grande
As settlement in the western states and territories continued a continual theme developed of the importance of water. This map from a set that looked at potential water districts based on regional drainages began to wrestle with this matter and look for regional solutions. Here, the regions that could potentially have been created from the Rio Grande river, from the San Luis Valley in southern Colorado, throughout all of central New Mexico, south to El Paso Texas.
