(CO.) State of Colorado, G.L.O., 1934 A large beautiful map for the state during what was a raw and difficult time for the region. While the economy struggled more and more in morass that was the Great Depression, the unthinkable began to occur in the east portions of the state as the Dust Bowl descended on the plains. Old timers even in the northern reaches of the front range spoke of the dust clouds reaching up to ranches near Ft Collins, but for southeast Colorado it must have felt like an intentional decimating act of God. It would be another few years before the plagues would finally end. This great reference includes a fine treatment of the terrain, as well as towns, railroads, drainages, counties and even notes the historic land grants in the southern portion of the state. Bright printed color remains. Condition is very good. Image size is approximately 29.5 x 34 (inches).
