Seth Eastman was an Army man who chronicled native American life, and was even commissioned by the government to paint numerous scenes. This is his famous and controversial image of a man being scalped, taken from his original painting. The original painting was a cause for concern at the time, and was removed from viewing on occasion. This steel engraving faithfully recreates the original.

Condition is very good. Image size is 8.5 x 6.75(inches).
