The Kingdom of Denmark, together with surrounding areas of Sweden and Germany. Political subdivisions include the independent duchies of Schleswig and Holstein, at that time in personal union with Denmark. Coastal and ocean features are especially well detailed. The Scale cartouche shows native livestock, and the beautifully engraved title cartouche includes an image of the goddess Artemis. The map is dedicated to the Duke of Burgundy, grandson of Louis XIV.
