Done just two years after statehood, this early map by Hayden shows the roads, rivers and towns of the time, with interesting additions for the San Juan mining region. Due to the conflicts with the Ute Indians, this shows the settlement demographics for the region and the relative distance from the cavalry stationed at Ft. Garland.
