This map from the late 19th century shows that these swelling populations movements have been occurring for a long while. Here a set of maps looks at shifting populations in England and France, with a large center map focused on England from 1881-1891. It shows a massive shift away from the countryside and into the mining and manufacturing centers, mostly in the industrial north and surrounding London. Condition is very good with some offsetting.
