This is what we put in the hands of US pilots as the Cold War began. This map was supplied to you in the terrible case that you went down and needed to make it to land and civilization. Showing great detail for the coast, interior rivers, towns, mountains and nearby islands this map would be a life line to help you orient and make it to safety. Printed on a type of nylon, it would be waterproof, wouldn't have folds, and would be easy to conceal. Printed on both sides, this map shows an area from England and eastern Spain, east to Romania and the Baltic bay of Riga, on the reverse is coverage of the Balkans and Black Sea, north to beyond Moscow, Gorky portions of Estonia. Prominently states at the top "Restricted".
Condition is good with some light soiling and a few very small pin holes. Image size is approximately 36.5 x 38.5 (inches)
