General Atlas of the World

1887

  • Books & Atlases
  • General Atlas of the World containing Large scale maps of every State, Territory abd Country in the World...

While the Continental Publishing Company were the \"sole agents\" selling this atlas, it is thoroughly Rand McNally, and typical of their high quality at the time. This is a really nice atlas in that, as the title mentions, it shows each state and territory on its own sheet, not a clump of states or region. There are one hundred twenty pages of maps which offer a great glimpse of the US at the time (prior to the separation of the Dakotas, and Oklahoma is still "Indian Territory"), but also an interesting world view. An additional eighty six pages full of general information and indexes for towns.

Condition is very good with a very tight spine and binding with some wear to the spine and cover and very light damp staining to the very edges of the sheets . Image size is 12 x 9 (inches).
