The impact of Captain Cook's explorations were vast at the time. They introduced new cultures, dismissed the existence of mythic continents, employeed the latest scientific methods, and laid the foundation for a new era of settlement and commerce. This print from the third and final expedition of Cook and his men was from a richly engraved French edition.
This print shows a facet of domestic family life (including infant) and lodging of fisherman and hunters. Clad in their fur clothes, they are cleaning fish in front of their home before venturing out in the canoe to add to the days catch.
Condition is very good. Sheet size is 9.25 x 7 (inches).
