(Hawaii) The Dole Map of the Hawaiian Islands
A beautiful map for the islands from a series of maps that Dole published beginning in the 1930's. This map from 1950 is in a more painterly pictorial style leaving behind the cartoonish vignettes of earlier edition for a watercolor-esque approach that contains a wealth of interest. Each island is shown with vignettes particular to its local culture and is noted in an exhaustive key to the right of the image.
