The Dole Map of The Hawaiian Islands
From a series of decorative pictorial maps that were produced by the Dole, meant to show the wonder and beauty of the islands, their attractions and culture. Done in a dense painterly style, it captures some of the terrain local land quality, but also includes the exotic ocean life, from fish and octopus, to the an eel. A large legend on the right margin identifies particulars from island to island, as well as general vignettes for the island chain.
Condition is good, with some marginal tears, and light age toning to the sheet. Image size is approximately 19 x 38 (inches)
