They introduced new cultures, dismissed the existence of mythic continents, employeed the latest scientific methods, and laid the foundation for a new era of settlement and commerce. This print from the third and final expedition of Cook and his men was from a richly engraved French edition.
This print gives us a portrait of a man from Kamtchatka. Kamtchatka was located on the volcanic Kamtchatka Peninsula (780 miles) in Russian Far East.
