Bird's-Eye View Chicago.
Two decades or so after the fire that disfigured the heart of the town, this birds eye view is almost a reintroduction of the skyline and integrity of the town. Made for the great spectacle that was the Columbian Exposition which was held in the Chicago, this view though done in a sketch style has some precision. Showing key buildings, parks and roads, this is not a view of the town's potential, but its real growth. The shoreline is choked with boats, and conveys momentum and activity.
