An early map of the new state, just four years old, and still mostly unsettled. Perhaps only the bottom quarter of the state is divided into counties but those hardly have any towns, and only a handful of roads cut across the region. West of the Illinois River is "Bounty Lands" which extends almost up to the "Indian Boundary Line". Does show Kaskaskia as the capital.

Condition is good, with some light discoloration along the centerfold, but not the typically strong staining seen on this map. Bold original hand color. Image size is approximately 16.75 x 21 with surrounding text (inches)
