Indien & Inner - Asien (India, Sri Lanka, Burmah)
An excellent example of the meticulous and fine engravings that German cartographers were making in the late 19th century. An amazing for India, here divided into its British possesions and princely states. Several detailed insets show Bombay (Mumbai), Calcutta, Madras (Chennai), and Point De Galle. An incredible gem for showing detail in the mountains, and full notations for towns, terrain, rivers, regional boundaries, all are shown with precision. A mix of both printed and hand color.
Condition is very good with some light age browning to the paper. Image size is 13.5 x 16 (inches).
