Country Of The Nestorians
Back in approximately 400 AD a small branch of Christians took to the teaching of Nestorius about the natures of Jesus and separated themselves to far northwestern region of what is modern Iran or Kurdistan. Almost 1800 years later, this sheet from a missionary atlas centers in on this odd chapter in church history which was still existent. With the Armenian Lake Van at the top and Lake "Ooroomiah" in the east, it shows the major towns and terrain, as well as the drainages. Roughly in the center of "Koordistan" is location of the "Independent Nestorians".
