The ideal reference for Italy which was meant as a definitive reference for towns, roads and rail lines throughout the recently unified nation. Attractively produced with lithographic color for the mountains and oceans, it well conveys the sense of the terrain, including the many nearby islands. Throughout the seas are shipping routes, all labeled to show distances. A folding pocket map, the original canvas still remains.
Condition is good with some soiling and wear, and an few small manuscript notations, but still very charming. Image size is 32.5 x 26, full printed color.
