Johnson's Hindostoand or British India.
The Johnson company was one of the better American mapmakers of the 19th century, and were known for keeping current with all the changes that were occurring. This is a fine example of their work with bold original hand color. This map covers all of the Indian sub continent and most of southeast Asia. Shows many towns as well as the terrain. Several insets show Calcutta, "Madras and its suburbs", "The Island & Town of Bombay" and a vignette of "Government House & Treasury Calcutta".
Condition is very good. Image size is 12.5 x 15.5 (inches).
