    The Johnson company was one of the better American mapmakers of the 19th century, and were known for keeping current with all the changes that were occurring. This is a fine example of their work with bold original hand color. This map covers all of Japan and its nearby islands. Shows many towns as well as the terrain. Insets show the Bay of Nagasaki, and "Yesso and the Japanese Kuriles".

    Condition is very good. Image size is 12.5 x 15.5 (inches).
