Johnson's Mexico.
The Johnson company was one of the better American mapmakers of the 19th century, and were known for keeping current with all the changes that were occurring. This is a fine example of their work with bold original hand color. This map covers all of Mexico from the Yucatan and up to the US border. Interestingly just north of the border is an good depiction of the oddly configured Arizona territory and the Southwest. An inset shows the isthmus at Tehuantepec.
