A crisp engraving by a French master with light original hand color. A fine example of French cartography from the time, with a nice sense of presentation and decorative cartouche. Here, the whole continent is basically shown, with ancient mistakes such as the lakes shown at the base of the "Mountains of the Moon" which were the supposed source of the Nile. General attributions such as "Ethiopie" cover vast portions of the entire continent.
