Spanning from the Alps to the islands of Malta and Lampedusa south of Sicily, this map shows the regional boundaries, as well as the major cities and towns, and terrain. Well prior to Italian unification, here the bulk of southern Italy is still the Kingdom of Naples, while the north is divided amongst the Church States, the Venetian Republic and others.
