(Louisiana - New Orleans) New Orleans - The Crescent City - Lake Pontchartrain In The Distance
A large woodblock engraving showing a birds eye view of New Orleans in 1884 when the city was the host of the World's Fair. Another fine example of Charles Graham's detailed work which here illustrates the city block by block, including the nearby Mississippi River which is dense with boasts of all kinds. Architectural detail is noted on many buildings and the image strikes one a perhaps being created by balloon view, as the perspective and scale seem pretty realistic. In the distance paddle wheelers and sailboats glide along Lake Pontchartrain.
Condition is good, with some light scuffing along one fold. Image size is approximately 21 x 30.5 (inches)
