It's one of the earliest maps for Maine, as it was then still “part of Massachusetts”, and shows development of the time, and the very primitive grasp of what lay up river on the Penobscot, and the northern reaches toward the border with the “British Province of Quebec”.
A rarity, condition on this map is good with some off setting and light even browning to the sheet, but a clear engraving. Image size 12.5 x 8, uncolored as issued
