Map of Colorado Territory, Compiled from Government maps & actual Surveys, Made in 1861.
This is the first map of Colorado, printed just months after it had become a territory. It is a primative attempt at mapping complex area, its mountains, rivers and the few towns that appear. Indeed several of the towns shown are long since gone. This map has been called "an exercise in good intentions" and therein lies its charm..
Condition is good, and has been professionally restored and lined with tissue, has the typical light browning to the folds and a close left margin. Image size is 18 x 21 (inches).
